Music at the Casa - Blue Bamboo presents Dimas Sánchez Afro Latin Quartet

Dimas Sánchez, an accomplished drummer and percussionist hailing from Puerto Rico, currently calls Orlando, FL home. His musical journey has been shaped by the guidance of seasoned mentors such as Tony Sánchez, Keith Copeland, Ignacio Berroa, Ángel “Cachete” Maldonado, and others. In the 80s, he immersed himself in the rich tapestry of Afro-Puerto Rican folklore under the tutelage of Jesús Cepeda, Petra Cepeda, and Don Rafael Cepeda.

Dimas is not only a performer but also a dedicated educator, actively participating in percussion clinics and master classes. His notable involvement in the “Contemporary Drums and Percussion Summer Camp” at the University of Central Florida saw him share the stage with luminaries like Horacio “El Negro” Hernández and Alex Acuña.
