A thrilling story set to music by the legendary Stephen Sondheim, Sweeney Todd captivates the audience by the emotionally stirring tale of Benjamin Barker, an exiled barber, who returns to 19th century London to settle a score with his nemesis and find his family.
Winner of the 1979 Tony Award for Best Musical and currently selling out in a smash Broadway revival, this soaring musical tells the story of Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett, long in love with the anguished barber, who assists him in his search for his lost daughter and wife. A comic vein runs through the gothic, romantic and chilling account of Sweeney’s search for truth. A Victorian-era ambiance enhances Sondheim’s score, with stunning dissonance and dark beauty.
