Civic Minded 5

The Civic Minded 5 are a volunteer creative music presenting group, first as an adjunct of WPRK-FM Rollins College in the late 1990s. We are currently partnering our events with the Timucua Arts Foundation in Orlando, Fl.

Our concerts trend commonly toward "other" music- experimental composition, improvised, non-commercial, etc. We have presented a diverse range of events including Cecil Taylor, The First Sacred Steel Convention, Peter Brötzmann, Elliot Sharp, Sun Araw, Mary Halvorson, Derek Bailey, Bang On A Can's OneBeat world music showcase, Roscoe Mitchell, David Lang and Otomo Yoshihide.
