The IceHouse Theatre

The IceHouse Theatre

The IceHouse Theatre is a not-for-profit community theater which was founded in 1948 in Mount Dora, FL.  The IceHouse has produced 75 continuous seasons of entertainment; from 1948-1958 in a renovated ‘ice plant’ on the shore of Lake Dora, and from 1958-present, in its own theater building on Unser Street in Mount Dora.  In 2011, following a major renovation to the lobby and grounds, the building was rechristened as The Sonnentag Theatre at the IceHouse.  The IceHouse is a comfortable, 270-seat, proscenium style, performing space.  The IceHouse theatrical season runs July 1 – June 30 each year, mounting six productions; primarily musicals and comedies, with an occasional thriller or light drama. Tickets: $25 Adults; $23 Groups; $15/$10 Students. Wednesday (in the fourth week only) 7:30, Thursdays 7:30, Fridays 8:00, Saturdays 2:00, Sundays 2:00.  Each show runs four weeks; some extensions occur.
